Sharon Virtue

Hello, I am Sharon, an English painter, dancer and ceramic artist, living in California. I have always loved pattern, and use it in my painting and ceramic work. At art school in U.K, I spent a lot of time in the textile department, hand-dying and printing onto silk and cotton. I recall those art school days with joy! It really was a time of creative freedom. It brought my love of dancing and painting together.

I have been dreaming of turning my paintings into fabrics for some time now. I submitted my work to the test in the UpperCase Magazine, Surface Pattern competition. Windham Fabrics picked my work for a fabric collection because of my unique use of colour. I am so excited to see the resulting debut collection in Bright World.
