Melissa Marie Collins

I’m Melissa Marie Collins, an artist based in Iowa, where I live with my husband and our dog. I am a multi media artist, with a focus in fiber arts, oil painting, and inks made from natural materials, with a focus on process, surface, and creating by hand.

I spend my days teaching art and sewing, working with people of all ages and abilities. Supporting others as they grow in skill and confidence through making is a meaningful part of my work.

I was raised in a family and community where sewing was part of everyday life. Creativity is my inheritance, and it continues to shape both my handmade wardrobe and the work I create.
