Governors Palace

by Williamsburg

The imposing decoration of the original Governors Palace of Virginia is meticulously recreated in the furnishing of the reconstructed building as part of Colonial Williamsburg.

Surviving inventories and other documents hint at the brilliant colors used in the interiors of the Palace: "crimson damask chairs," "green bamboo chairs," "a paper of Prussian blue [paint]," "2 green Damask Curtains." This vibrant palette is captured in the WILLIAMSBURG "Governor's Palace" collection of quilting fabrics from Windham Fabrics. Create your own sumptuous interior using these historically inspired fabrics.
