Susie
Osburn has designed embroidery patterns for her business
"Lace Tales Embroidery" for more than 20
years. For twelve years she managed a home dec store
that also sold antique quilts and vintage Redwork. By
using patterned fabrics in a variety of colors in her
Redwork quilts, Susie brings a fresh look to this area.
Redwork, believed to have originated
in Europe in the 19th Century and introduced in America
just prior to the War Between the States, has enjoyed a
renaissance among quilters in the last several years.
Susie newest Redworks fabric collection was inspired by
an antique embroidered Redwork quilt, c. 1917, and the
coordinating fabrics take inspiration from beautiful
antique quilts of the same era, all part of a collection
from The Michigan State University Museum.
Susie is well known nationally for her
lectures on bringing a contemporary flair to traditional
embroidery techniques with color and patterns for
stunning results. |
