Margo's Dargate Book continues to be a huge source of
inspiration for beautiful fabrics. This line, Dargate
Ribbons, features patterns and colors that replicate the
original vintage fabrics found in the 19th Century
fabric sample book.
"My inspiration for Dargate Ribbons was a
combination of my fascination with early 19th century
wavy stripes and serpentine motifs. I always thought
they resembled twisting ribbons," says Margo.
Additionally, Margo was impressed with the skill and
craftsmanship of the 1830's manufacturers to produce
such dazzling, complex colorations from combinations of
simple vegetable and mineral dyes.
She has accurately translated these intricate, detailed
patterns of the early 19th Century into rich, colorful
fabrics that today's quilters will find especially
appealing for their traditional and contemporary quilt
projects.
