Backyard Beauty's subtle colors and patterns offer
quilters an innovative approach to their creative
process. "Whenever I need a break from the hectic
pace of the day, I go outside in my back yard to
regroup, relax and enjoy the back-to-basics beauty of
the birds and wildlife for a few quiet moments,"
says Betty Cotton. Inspired by the scenes of her own
yard, Betty incorporates many elements that appeal to
landscape artists and traditional quilters alike. Flora
and fauna abound on the branches, ivy, pine cone and
bird house motifs, and pair with delicate bird scenes,
detailed outdoor settings, feather prints and
coordinating blenders for a well-rounded collection of
